The Messages from the Founders – MOU with Western University of Timişoara, Romania

With the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of cooperation with the Western University of Timişoara of Romania (羅馬尼亞蒂米甚瓦拉西部大學) in 2016, IAJMPP was invited to participate as a coordinator and facilitator to link the West to meet the East in a design and cultural exchange event —- INTERDESIGN 2016 Timișoara International Symposium.

Through our network of the alliance experts and honorary advisors’ support, IAJMPP has collected different categories of creative works including jewellery, product, graphic and interior designs from the students and professors of Gemmological Institute of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (中國地質大學(武漢)珠寶學院), School of Industrial Design of Hubei University of Technology (湖北工業大學工業設計學院) and School of Jewellery and Design of Wuhan University of Engineering and Science (武漢工程科技學院珠寶設計學院), together with some quality design works from the independent product designers and jewellery designers in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Within two months, a very pleasant result was obtained —- a significant amount of the submitted design works were selected and displayed at the opening ceremony of the event, and published in the design e-book.

In August, Dr Alexandru Bunii, IAJMPP Honorary Advisor and team member of the event of 3rd International Timișoara INTERDESIGN 2020, sent an invitation to us inviting our members and friends to participate the event and submit design works to WUT.

This is a great honour for IAJMPP to support this international design event again in 2020 to serve the design and jewellery communities at large in cultural exchange aspects and to create a strong notion of professionalism for practitioners, executives and organisations working together to share knowledge, expertise, resources and support one another’s work.

We wish you and your family the very best of health and get through all the changes and stressful things during this pandemic!

Mr Evert DeGraeve 。Dr Norman Siu

  • Conference for the theme “designing the future”
The design exhibition is open to all professional and beginner designers. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 works. The digital works must respect the standard dimensions of the contest: 50x70cm or 70x100cm, 200 dpi. The deadline for submitting digital design works is 30 September 2020.
